Requirements
What Intentface Launch needs, what it has been tested on, and what to know before an agent works in your repos.
What you need
- Node 22 or later, with pnpm, npm, yarn or bun in the product repo.
- ffmpeg, which encodes the frames and mixes the audio
(
brew install ffmpeg). - uv, only for beat detection (
pnpm launch beats). - An ElevenLabs account and its CLI (
npm install -g @elevenlabs/cli), only for generating sound effects. The key goes inlaunch/.env. See Music and sound. - Chromium for renders and captures, which
pnpm launch setupdownloads once per machine (Playwright's build). The CLI starts it with the GPU on and with HTML-in-Canvas, which the 3D add-on's panels need. It also has WebGPU, which the shader effects add-on needs. - Claude Code, to make videos with the skills. You can also write videos by hand.
- The product, running locally, with its source repo on the same machine. See Ways to work.
The commands to install them are in the Quick start.
What it has been tested on
Intentface Launch is developed and tested on an Apple M2 Pro Mac, with Claude Opus 5.5 at High effort in Claude Code. Other machines, operating systems and models are not guaranteed to work.
- The renderer draws with the GPU, through ANGLE on Metal on macOS. Other platforms and GPUs are untested. Without a GPU, headless Chromium falls back to software rendering, which is much slower.
- The timings in the guides (seconds for a still, about 46 captured frames per second for a final render, about 0.65 frames per second for 3D stages at 96 samples) were measured on that machine.
- The skills were written and tuned with Opus at High effort. A smaller model, or a lower effort, may skip steps the method depends on, such as looking at its own stills before calling a shot done.
Use at your own risk
Intentface Launch is experimental software under active development, provided as is, without warranty of any kind, under the MIT licence. APIs, commands and skills change between versions.
Making a video means an agent works on your machine: it runs commands, starts your product, drives a browser through it and writes files in your repos.
- Review what Claude does, and the permissions you give it.
- Work in version control, so every change can be seen and undone.
- Keep secrets out of what gets rendered.
secret(name)keeps API keys and demo logins out of snapshots and manifests, but frames show whatever the page puts on screen, so use a demo account or seeded data.
